free trial with product purchase

I purchased an iPhone in late June and understood I would get a free trial to services such as apple TV and News. Since I've been working long hours I thought I'd wait to start the trial when I knew I'd have time available to use it. I looked into starting them today and they no longer seem to be available. It has only been 95 days since my purchase, did I miss the opportunity? Or is there some way I can still get the free trial? I look forward to hearing your advice.
