''Northern'' Alaska - satellite connection???

I just bought an IPhone15 at Anchorage, explaining that I am interested in the satellite emergency connection.

Now I read that it may not work above latitude 62 , giving 'northern Alaska' as an example.

Well Anchorage is 61.2 and is very far from being northern Alaska. Fairbanks that is still not north is 64.8.

Do you have experience whether it really does not work there?
