It gave the location as a jpeg file in the Photo Library which I have gone to to look for the file. When I have searched the location this file name does not exist. Any suggestions and solutions would be appreciated.

Try to startup in Safe mode, then normal boot could help your issue.

That has worked. Thanks so much. I installed the latest Software Update first then started in Safe mode and have been able to complete the backup.

Time Machine couldn't complete the back up as '/@file.jpeg' could not be backed up
