Mac os 14.1.2 move print job to another printer

It used to be possible to drag and drop a print job from one printer queue to another printer simply by dragging and dropping. With recent updates, that no longer seems to be possible. So if a print job gets sent to wrong printer, how can it be moved to the desired printer?

Please add me to the list of disgruntled customers who strongly believe the printing software was better when it allowed the user more options. Stop taking away features and calling them product updates! The ability to perform this very simple function was an important feature in optimizing our workflow.

Looks like the UI needs some catching up. You can do it from the command line.

  • Open Terminal
  • Run `lpstat` to find the print jobs
  • For each print job listed ("foobar_printer-XXX" where the name of the printer is "foobar_printer", and the print job is "XXX"), run `lpmove XXX new_printer`.

You'll see the jobs move in the UI.

It's one the things I really enjoy and always saw it as an operating system advantage between the other...

Also the function of displaying what was the print job having a preview when doble click, that also gone with this version :(

I've got the very same problem because we use multiple printers and sometimes I send my documents to print on the wrong one or the printer is not avaible for the job. It was great in the past ! Why could this not be implemented with the new Printer Center?

I have the same issue and it was not processed yet. I have multiple jobs in the queue and dragging it is not possible. And on some blogs it says to open two printer queues to drag between them and that is not possible either with OS 14.

Any other ideas?

thanks,

cj
