edit PDF in gmail on ipad

I used to be able to easily sign or make notations on a PDF file sent via gmail on my ipad with my Apple pen. Since the most recent updates, I am no longer offered the option of editing with my Apple Pencil, rendering it useless to me.

Ipad Email Client Hello, I have just purchased my first ipad and apple pencil to use for work and I have a question. I have set up my work email on the ipad email client and that works fine. I need to be able to open more than 1 pdf attachment at a time and view/edit it with the pencil but I can't work out how to do this. I currently have one pdf attachment open and made notes with the pencil but I now need to go back in to my email account and open another attachement at the same time but everytime I hit the menu button to go back in to the email client it takes me back to the pdf I am currently editing. Does anyone know if it is possible to open and edit more than 1 email attachment at once without having to use 2 different email clients? Thanks Ray

Annotate an Email on IPAD with Pencil Apple says you can use the IPad Pencil to "Mark up email, screenshots, and more.You can write and sketch on email messages". It only seems to give me an option to create and insert an attachment. This is not the same as marking up an email so that I can reply to the sender.

Apple Pencil markup not appearing after email recipient opens PDF document Simply put - any markup made to a .pdf with iOS native apps can only be seen when opened with another native apple application. i.e. saved a file to icloud opened file on ipad pro and marked up with apple pencil - saved file opened file on OSX desktop with preview - markup is visible open same file with google chrome - no markup The only solution I have found is to use a 3rd party PDF app. Surely, I am doing something wrong? Having to leave the apple ecosystem for something as simple as this can't be real. right? Thanks for any help in advance!
