Old Time Capsules for recycle

I have a few old Time capsules but I no longer not have a Mac to ensure all data is erased before I sent them to Apple for recycle. Any suggestions?

Do you have an iPhone or iPad? If yes, you can use the AirPort Utility app to erase the disk on the Time Capsules.

Otherwise, maybe a friend has a Mac or PC?

If still no luck, and you are planning to take the Time Capsules to the Apple Store to be recycled, you can use one of the Macs there to erase the disk on the Time Capsules.

Best Buy also accepts Apple products for recycling, so you could use one of the Mac's there as well.

Ideally, you would want to erase the disk on the Time Capsules at home......since you can select a secure erase like 7 Pass Erase. The default Quick Erase option is not secure, but it would probably be OK since the Time Capsules are headed for recycling.
