Using Private Browsing on Ipad, history being retained.

Using Private Browsing on Ipad, history being retained. Cycled the Ipad, turned PB off, cycled the Ipad, turned PB back on, no change. History still being retained. The only option has been to clear history. This did not used to happen before the last IOS update.

Unable to clear history and access private browsing Ever since I updated to iOS 14.2 I haven't been able to acces private browsing. It's quite annoying because I tend to use private browsing on my phone so it doesn't mess up the history on my other devices which I use for school. There's nothing in my restrictions that should cause this problem and I've also reset my settings but nothing seems to have fixed it.

settings (iOS 17) on “ Clear History” options won’t stay locked. How come the choices of options I make in “Clear History” won’t stay locked ie) “Close All Tabs” and other options ( time frame). They revert back to default settings every it’s accessed. And there seem to be unnecessary steps involved. Convoluted!

History?. I can find no way to get the private browsing off my iPad. All of the things the web tells me to do don’t work! Help???
