How can I reduce iCloud photo library CPU usage on Windows 11 24H2?

iCloud Drive (more specifically iCloud photo library) is consuming about 30% of the CPU on my Windows 11 24H2 machine. And, no, there are no new photos to sync up. I can kill the task and free up CPU for a while but it auto restarts in a few minutes.

Does anyone have an explanation or a solution to reduce the CPU utilization of this task?

High CPU Utilization on Windows 11 I enabled iCloud Photos on my PC about 2 weeks ago given the (purported) linkage of iCloud photos into the windows photo app. My photos are actually showing up in the app, but iCloud is continuously eating up CPU time and churning the hard disk. I would have figured this would eventually stop once everything is downloaded, but I guess not as its been going like this for ~2 weeks. Is anyone else seeing this, and does anyone have a solution? iCloud for Windows stops syncing photos and churns CPU I have been trying for months to get iCloud Photos to download to my PC. I have clicked "Always keep on this device" in Windows Explorer so it should download and keep in sync. But every time I try it: Starts downloading for a bit, then stops iCloud Photos task churns CPU, 20-30% I can open some photos, and sometimes it downloads, but usually it times out with an error. My iCloud drive sync's OK (37GB), but photos always hangs up and churns CPU. I have: Reinstalled iCloud multiple times. Rebooted many times. Tried with and without my VPN (Nord). Unclicked and clicked iCloud Drive and Photos in the iCloud for Windows panel, which causes the folders to be recreated. Made sure all updates are installed on my Windows 11 64 bit machine. Tried to find a way to get support from Apple, but it appears no support is available for iCloud (the "get support" button on the iCloud support web page reopens the same page!). I see many other users complaining about this exact same issue, over the last several years. It does seem to be a chronic problem with iCloud. Is there anything else I can do other than give up?

Syncing with iCloud Paused - Mac Needs to Cool Down Syncing with iCloud Paused - Mac Needs to Cool Down After upgrading OS's I continue to get the message when trying to view latest photos "Syncing with iCloud Paused - Mac Needs to Cool Down" even though it is NOT running hot, there are little to know apps, processes running that would even cause this issue. Only solution seems to be reboot or revisit Photos from my desktop another day (or view on my phone or iPad). I upgraded to Sequoia and it resolved the issue, but now it's back again. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!! Apple get you act together and resolve this issue. Stop making it difficult to use your equipment just to push people to upgrade when it's not needed.
