Why are iPhone 16 notifications delayed by 14 hours?

I missed an important phone message from 1:27 pm the day before. I received it the next morning at 8:15 am

Most notifications require an internet connection.

If you connect to Wifi, doesn't necessarily mean you are connected to the internet. --> nternet not available WiFi and Cellular … - Apple Community
