Messages app does not appear in carplay

I no longer see Messages as an option in carplay.

I checked carplay customization and Messages is not an option.

Checked Notifications, Focus, Message app and all seem okay.

No text message popups on CarPlay with iOS 18 Over the weekend I upgraded to the 16 Pro with IOS 18. Since then, I’m not getting any popup notifications for incoming text messages on CarPlay. All my settings are exactly the same as my previous phone. I’ve re-paired my phone with my car several times, still no luck. Right now, the only way I know I have any new texts is to go into my messages on my screen. Very inconvenient! Please help! [Re-Titled by Moderator]

CarPlay Message won't pop-up after iOS 18 update After installing iOS 18, text messages don’t pop up on the car's home screen like they did prior to the update. I have go to the CarPlay application to see the pop-ups. Evidently, it's a deliberate change that Apple made, which is extremely annoying and puts the driver's safety at a higher risk. We now have to click additional screens to put CarPlay in front just to see notifications that used to be there without any extra steps. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

CarPlay text messages only popping up with CarPlay up iOS 18.1.1 (iPhone 16 Pro Max) 2021 Jeep Gladiator with CarPlay My old iPhone 13 Pro Max would have text message notification popups when I had the Media/SXM screen up. Now with the new phone, the notifications only pop up when I have the CarPlay screen up. I have tried Announce Notifications with Siri, CarPlay (both on the phone and in the vehicle), I’ve tried turning it on in Uconnect and Bluetooth. Nothing is fixing this issue. Ideas?

Do you have require Face ID on? I had this issue with Spotify and WhatsApp not showing as available apps in CarPlay, when I switched Face ID off for these apps and restarted the phone, they appeared in CarPlay.
