my app store download keeps asking to confirm with assistive touch. what is assistive touch?

This is an old post from 2021. Having the same issue now when I go to the AppStore. Won't let me use face ID without assistive touch?

Assistive Touch When i purchase an app it is no longer asking me to double click to pay with FaceID or it wont let me even enter my AppleID password, it only says "Confirm with AssistiveTouch" or “Turn On Assistive Touch in Settings to Confirm With FaceID”… Update: I finally found the answer by the reply from rajeep67 … rajeep67’s Profile - Apple Community

iPad Air and face ID Why is my iPad Air saying, “Enable assistive touch to enable face ID” after I confirm assistive touch and I disable it? When I use the app store when my confirmation is there, it says to enable assistive touch to enable face ID. I don't get why it says that when Apple doesn't say that iPad Air uses Face ID. And when I disable the confirmation it stops it. Here's an image of what it's saying.

If Assistive Touch has been enabled, you might have to push the Side button twice to confirm your purchase/download.
