iTunes payment update Catch 22

I am trying to update my expired credit card on iTunes, but it won't let me.

When I try to remove the old card (as it instructs) it says I can't remove it because I have to have 'one valid payment method on file'. And when I try to add a payment method (without removing the old one first) it says I can't because have to 'verify the existing payment method first' - which I can't because it's an expired card! So I can't do anything!

Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks.

Try adding the new card and removing the old one via https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage

If that also doesn't work contact iTunes Support and see if they can help you do it :  http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww  (click on your country's flag, the country where you live, and which is therefore the country on the account ; click on Contact Support towards the top right ; click on Get Help under 'Talk To Us’)
