Question

AHT is not starting; Error Cannot Load "EFI//Drivers/TestSupport.efi"

I'm trying to run Apple Hardware Test on my iMac ( 2012) by pressing D right after turning on the Mac, but i only get the error message on black screen: Error: 0x800000etc, Cannot Load "EFI/Drivers/TestSupport.efi".

I tried the same thing pressing "Option + D" and I get the same error message on black screen: Error: 0x800000etc, Cannot Load "EFI/Drivers/TestSupport.efi"

I don't have the OS X on Disk to install, as i have with no internals CD Slot.

Your Hard Drive is likely failing. Before you do ANYTHING backup this computer if you have not been using Time Machine or you will lose all of your data. Then make an appointment at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider and have the computer professionally diagnosed.

This is intended ONLY for information purposes. What others have already mentioned is a good idea but . . . there is more to it. Draw your own conclusion and act accordingly.

My iMac is getting slower and slower. Monday he stopped working and just froze. So I had to reboot several times just to be able to log in again. I try to figure out, what is my problem. And to do so, I would like to run the hardware test.
