On my mac computer I have three Macintosch HD showing up on my desktop. When I try to open the other two the message I get is The folder “Macintosh HD” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents.
How did I get three and how can I remove the two? I have tried to drag it to trash and that does not work as well.

Try clicking Finder > Applications > Utilities, and open the Disk Utility app; do you see three Macintosh HD icons here? Knowing this would help determine a little more about what's happening.
If you only see one in Disk Utility, try clicking Finder > Preferences > General, and unchecked "Hard disks" under the "Show these items on the desktop" section, and then re-check it; does that help?

I restarted my system and that seemed to reset things.
