Deleting photos in albums vs library-photos

I saw another post about this subject in 2016. It stated that if I delete a photo in an album, it would be also removed from my library, but this is not the case for me. I deleted about 500 photos from an album, and they are all still in my library photos. Ugh. I take about 500 images a day, 2,500 the other day, so I will run out of space quickly. I live in a rural area and have metered WIFI, so I can't use the cloud. This will quickly get out of control. Help, please!

With the current version of Photos (4.0) you can control click on a photo in an album and choose to either remove the photo from the album or to delete the photo. If you choose Delete, that will remove it from Photos (after the Recently Deleted album is cleared) and from all albums. Or you can control click on a photo in Photos in the Library section and delete it and it will also be removed from all albums.

Note that a photo takes up the same amount of space whether it is in no Albums, 1 Album or 10 Albums.
