Locked ipad mini

my dad has lock himself out of his ipad for months now im trying to get back up and running for him. Its saying a password is required to activate this device because its owner has used find my iphone to link it to their apple id. He doesn't know email or password that he set up the I pad with. How can we fix this and get it back in working condtion

Do you know did your father set up the 2 factor authentication or created security questions when he first created his Apple ID?


Using the 2 factor authentication or answer security questions can regain access to your father’s iPad.


U mentioned your father used his iPhone to link his Apple ID, most probably he set up the 2 factor authentication using phone number, pls refer to this link: https://support.apple.com/en-sg/HT204106
