Updated playlist on iPhone not syncing to Mac Music app

Hi

I often update my playlists on my iPhone by adding or removing songs from them.

Expected:

When I sync my iPhone with my Mac, the changes to the playlists are also synced to update the corresponding playlist on the Mac Music app.

What actually happens:

The changes are not synced. Instead, the sync overwrites the updated playlist on the iPhone with its old version. All changes are lost.

I have to trust my memory to make the same changes on the Mac playlists and re-sync them to the iPhone. Quite stupid.

This didn’t happen with iTunes. I’m okay with the breakup of iTunes but I can’t understand why it comes with so many deteriorations.
