moving video clips

To move clips from your iMovie library, click on the name of your library in the My Media view and then select the clip in the Media Browser display. After selecting the clip, do a File/Reveal in Finder. A folder entitled Original Media will pop up with the clip that you selected highlighted. Copy-drag (hold down the Option key while dragging) the clip from the original media folder to your desktop. From there you can use AirDrop (control click>Share>AirDrop) to transfer the clip to your iPad, provided that you have enabled AirDrop on your iPad and provided that your iPad is no more than 30 feet away from your computer. The nice thing about AirDrop is that there is no file size limitation.

Another way is to email the clip to your self and then open it on your iPad email. If the clip is too large to be sent my regular email, you can set up a free iCloud email account and send the clip that way. (System Preferences/iCloud.) There is a 5GB file size limitation with iCloud email that, however, is much larger than a regular email account.

I believe that you also can transfer the clip to your iTunes account and download it to your iPad from iTunes. I've not done that procedure myself.
