remove my iphone from family id

My phone is linked to my ex's family sharing apple ID. I have created a new apple ID but how do I remove my phone from his ID? I have an iphone 7.

You will need his password. Use the article below as a guide of where to sign out of his ID and into your ID.

So I signed out and signed in with new ID and updated it in the app store. When I go to settings and my name the old ID email address is still under my name and if I click on Name, Phone Numbers and Email the contactable at info is still linked to old ID.

Any suggestions? It seems I am still linked to the old family ID.

You are welcome. Did you sign out of his ID in Settings/Your Name/iCloud and then sign in with your ID?

If I click on my name at the top of the Settings page and then click on iCloud there is no sign out option just storage info and apps using icloud.

After going to Settings/Your Name/iCloud, the page in the right hand panel should show an avatar and below that, Name, Phone Numbers, Email. Scroll to the bottom of that page to sign out.
