can't get catalina update

When I try to get the Catalina upgrade via software update I get the message that my computer is up to date with Mojave. If I try via the app store i get told that the app isn't available.

  • MacBook, 2015 and later
  • MacBook Air, 2012 and later
  • MacBook Pro, 2012 and later
  • Mac mini, 2012 and later
  • iMac, 2012 and later
  • iMac Pro, 2017 and later
  • Mac Pro, 2013 and later


To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities' folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right. You may also find the complete model information by selecting About This Mac from the Apple menu.
