scanning more than one document into an email on my iOS device

If I scan more than one document into an email the file becomes too large to send

iPhone XS Max, iOS 13

Thank you, but —That would only work if the person I’m sending it to is an Apple user! What if I’m scanning documents that I need to send to an insurance company or any other non-Apple user?

I just had the same issue.


I scanned 4 pages into an email via the “Scan Document” feature on iPad Mail. The file size was 41Mb.


I scanned the same 4 pages into iPad Notes and the file size ended up being 3 Mb.


Why is there such a difference in file size for the same scanned document depending in which app it was scanned? Is this a bug or can resolution of scanned documents be changed?


WORK AROUND: In order to email the document, I “Saved to Files” the document that I scanned in Notes and then attached it to the email.
