Macbook Cannot Open App Store

I was deleting caches etc. from my MacBook to try and clear some storage space. I must have deleted something I shouldn't have, as I now cannot open the App Store… At all.

When I click on it, it appears in the dock for a split second, and the menu bar at the top changes to the app store one for the same amount of time. Then both disappear together and it just goes back to what I had open before! I need the App Store to download the newest version of Safari, otherwise I don't really use it.

Any solutions much appreciated :)
