how to add column with hours and minutes, how to add column with hours and minutes

There is this question and answer from 2012 however I can't figure out how it was done and how to do it.

Why do they have to make it so difficult in numbers?

1) format the column as duration format:


I suggest entering durations in the format:

1w 2d 3h 4m 5s 6ms


which is read

"1 week two days three hours four minutes five seconds six milliseconds"


you only have to enter the parts you need... so e.g.

to enter one hour, just type "1h"


to enter 1 hour twenty minutes "1h 20m"


This format is less ambiguous that the format with the colons


then to add up the durations, use the sum() function:
