My apple ID and password wont go through

My ipod keeps asking me to put my apple ID and password to open my ipod but it doesn't go through. I want to know what might be the problem?

 If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201485


You also can use Having trouble signing in/iForgot https://iforgot.apple.com/password/verify/appleid to identify either or both of the first two.


If you are not successful using the links given above, then see:

This document says “without proof of your identity via security questions and other carefully selected criteria, Apple Support can't help you reset a password or perform any other actions on your account.”

 

Thus, if you have not been successful, we can do nothing to help you, except to mention that Apple support might help you if you have an extenuating circumstance (e.g., you have the receipt for your purchase of the device with its serial number on it or a court order instructing Apple to assist in the provision of access to a decedent’s information from the deceased person's accounts. Error message(s)?


Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.


Try a restart.


Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch         


Try a forced restart.


Reset Device.      


If necessary


Hard reset.        


Do a backup and try a factory reset. Then restore from your backup.


Restore to Factory setting.      


Backup - Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup.
