No problem with AppleTV-3s. Only the AppleTV-4s have this issue. The
AppleTV-4s will not play photo slide shows with slide view times greater than 3
seconds. For slide view times greater than 3 seconds, the ATV-4 will show a few
slides and then reverts to the Slideshow set up screen.
How can this be fixed?

If you haven’t already, make sure your Apple TV is up to date:
Then restart your Apple TV:
Create another slideshow after that and see if it will work as expected:

Thanks for going through those steps. If restarting and updating did not help, sign out of iCloud on your Apple TV and restart. Sign back in and test again. This link can help with these steps:

The AppleTV-4 is up-to-date. Model A1842 (64 GB); TvOS 13.4(71L256)
I restarted the APPLE TV-4 and the issue remains. It still will not play photo slide shows with slide view times greater than 3
seconds. For slide view times greater than 3 seconds, the ATV-4 will show a few
slides and then reverts to the Slideshow set up screen. On my ATV-3s, there is no issue with longer view times.
