Safari & Chrome not resolving DNS, Firefox working fine

I do have the 10.15.4 supplemental update installed. No idea if that is related.

Chrome seemed to be working fine until this morning. Restarted Chrome, but no joy. Tried Safari, also no joy. Both are just spinning going to any website.

Firefox is working fine.

Haven't tried rebooting, but with all the noise around the supplemental update, rebooting is a bit terrifying!

Chrome also will not shut down properly. It hangs and I have to force quit. With appropriately low expectations, I tried Brave as well ... looks like same behaviour. I should say that DNS resolution may well be working ... problem could be after resolving. Trying to open devtools but no luck there.

Safari: not resolving, quits cleanly, cannot open dev tools.

Chrome + Brave: not resolving, does not quit cleanly, cannot open dev tools.

Firefox: Everything works.
