Keyboard commands won’t switch spaces properly on the mac

I typically use control 1 and control 2 to switch spaces left and right; (set up in keyboard preferences, shortcuts)

However I get a “thunk” sound when I attempt to switch to the next space on the right.

Doesn’t seem to be a keyboard command conflict.

Any fix?

Thanks

Open System Preferences> Keyboard> Shortcuts in the left hand panel select Mission Control.

On the right panel scroll down to the Mission Control Section, make sure the boxes are checked

and note which keyboard shortcut they use.

You can change the keyboard shortcut by highlighting and clicking on the current shortcut and inputting your own.
