Apple Pages V 10 - showing rulers by default

In Apple Pages 10, I cannot find a way to show Rulers by default in a new document - there appears to be no option to do so in Preferences. (Comment: the available preference options overall seem to me to be very limited.) I set up a document showing rulers and saved it as a template, chose that template in Preferences as the default page layout, but when I created a new document from that template the rulers were absent. Is there a way to show rulers by default?

I think the answer to that is "not yet, and not ever, unless people like you Provide Pages Feedback noting this counter productive change, an request a return to the previous supplied opportunities to set these features as it most productive for the individual user.

You'll find the Provide Pges Feedback gateway in the Pages menu.
