iPad speakers won’t work, seems to be stuck in headphone mode with no headphones connected

My iPad won’t play audio through its speakers, AirPods work, Bluetooth speakers work, just not built in speakers. When I pull down control center the volume bar shows a pair of headphones. I’ve powered the iPad down, set it to airplane mode, reset my iPad, repeatedly plugged in and took out earbuds from audio jack, messed with the ringer volume slider which I DO get sound when I do that but no sound from music or videos, I’m sure theirs more I’ve done which I’m forgetting... I’ve tried nearly every troubleshooting thing I’ve read and been told with no avail. PLEASE HELP!!!
