Folders Missing From Desktop and Documents

Hi,

Out of sudden, I lost my icon on my desktop and in My Documents folder. When I try to search using Spotlight Search the folders were there, but when I opened it with Finder I could find the folders. Does anyone ever encounter the same problem? Please help

They were not wiped out, they were copied to iCloud, presumably because you said so...

If that is not what you want, do this:

1) Press command-shift-H in the Finder to open your home folder

2) Make two new folders in there, call them something significant like "MY Documents" and "MY Desktop".

3) Copy everything from the Documents folder in your iCloud Drive to "MY Documents" and likewise for the Desktop.

4) Open System Preferences->Internet Accounts, and click on iCloud. Click the Options... button:

UNCHECK this box:

Confirm.

5) Now you can copy everything from "MY Documents" to your "Documents" folder, and similarly for the Desktop.
