Loud fan on Macbook Air 2020 (even when only using one tab and no apps)

I have done some research about my loud fan problem and found that this problem is only happening for folks when they are streaming, casting, making videos etc... however, for me, the fan is incredibly loud when simply using google with one tab open and all of my apps closed. I bought this new from the apple store in April and have had this problem from the start. I also have tried using it on every surface... not just "soft" surfaces like my lap. It does not seem to help. Any recommendations?

Determine if there are any apps/processes running in the background and causing high usage of CPU power and thus releasing heat and then causing the fan to run at high speed. Open the app ACTIVITY MONITOR and go through the processes that may be taking up CPU power.
Reset SMC by following the directions applicable to your MacBook here ➔ How to Reset SMC. See if that resolves the issue.
