I can't get my LG ULTRAFINE DISPLAY 5K to work with my MacBook Pro (15" 2017)

I can't get my LG ULTRAFINE DISPLAY 5K to work with my MacBook Pro (15" 2017)

I've downloaded the LG Screen Manager from the Apple Mac store -- when I run the application it says "it does not recognize the external monitor'

I've updated the Mac OS to Catalina yesterday and re-downloaded LG Screen Manager App and still no luck

Any help/advice friends?

Grant -- thank you for the swifty reply

I got the issue resolved by snooping around on tech sites

The issue was bizarre I discovered. We could not figure out why both our LG screens (4 and 5K) worked before but then the 5K stopped dead/black screen -- turns out we moved our Wireless Router to the office yesterday and THAT was the only difference and it happens to be the problem/solution --THE LG ULTRAFINE DISPLAY 5K WILL NOT WORK IF IT IS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO A WIRELESS ROUTER! See really helpful article below

So problem solved but man it was an epic puzzle to uncover what was going on (called AppleCare multiple times) -- so simple a solution but so bizzarro a problem (apparently there is a part in the LG that is affected by wireless radiation -- hardware issue not a software fix)

Ah, thanks -- I did not realize that warning existed: i guess we rushed the purchase and did not do our research.

I've now noticed this afternoon that when I stream YouTube on my MacBook, the LG monitor glitches a lot and goes to black screen for a few seconds intermittently. Once I quit out of Chrome/YouTube, it seems to settle back to normal with no issues

This Monitor just does not seem to like the Router...!

The monitor itself is actually good value and has a v good resolution for the work we are doing -- I just never expected to have these issues with hardware and a router
