Hdmi monitor not working with my mac Mini

I found in old threads that the mac mini has problems making the hdmi monitors to wake up. Anyone solved it? I just upgraded from an old monitor connexted through and adpater from the minidisplay port to vga. I bought a good hdmi monitor and a good cable. Once it gooes to sleep the hdmi port will not be awaken. Not even unplugging it and plugging it back. Why?????

Yes, change to 1m or less, preferably high speed certified HDMI cable. A certified high speed HDMI cable will have the logo

It’s not a must but preferred. You can use any cable as long as it’s well shielded and not too long i.e 1m or less.

Thanks for answering. After I posted I started considering the cable may be the problem. It's a 'good cable' as far as looks... but it's a generic chinese brand, I have no specs other than it's 1.5 mts long. (They carry the signal based on what that could make it go 'inactive' if the computer is transmitting?) Should I try to find a better one? Do you have a specific brand to look for? I live in Argentina.
