Unable to update apps

I just purchased a new MacBook Pro and am prompted to update garageband, imovie, etc. But when i try to update I get the alert "(insert app) cannot be updated because it was refunded or purchased with a different Apple ID." This is a brand new MacBook and the apps were already on my computer, so I'm not sure why it would say that. Do i have to delete and redownload?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15
