MacBook Pro Won't Recognize Display (Both Internal and External)

Hello,

My Macbook Pro (mid 2014, 15 inch) screen just went black. It was working in the morning, took it out of its case this afternoon and nothing.

The Macbook is running, because I can hear it and the back Apple light displays.

Internal display stays black, and hooking it up to an external device also shows nothing.

I tried the following steps, nothing worked:

- SMC reset

- Force shutdown

- Rebooting countless times (with and without the external monitor plugged in)

I also did the test with the flashlight, no image at all. Totally black.

I did a lot of research online, but I can't find anyone else unable to view on an external monitor.

Thanks!

MacBook Pro

Sounds like a hardware issue—Your GPU has failed...

EDIT: Now having reset PRAM, the external display works only if computer is turned on with the HDMI plugged in.

The screen was displaying through login. Once logged in the screen went black other than the mouse appearing. The mouse recognized the icons on the Desktop, but will not display anything.

Spotify also started playing after logged in.
