Macbook Pro won't recognise Password

Hi Guys,

I'm really hoping someone can help with my very strange issue.

My MacBook Pro late 2013 will not recognise the password. It automatically fills in the password and even when it's deleted and the correct password put in it doesn't recognise it, sending me into the continuous loop of resetting the password, restarting and the same thing happening again.

What is really strange is that all the normal options of Safe boot, reseting the PRAM, SMC or from a bootable drive and even Target Disk Mode and CMD-S don't work. The Mac just seems to skip straight to the Apple icon and present me with the login screen with no alternative but to potentially erase all my data by reinstalling the OS - an option I really want to avoid.

If anyone can suggest anything that might get me out of this "login loop" I'd very much appreciate it!

Cheers

Shane
