iPhone 12 yellow screen

i got my 12 pro yesterday, beautiful machine, but i started to notice some lack of color intensity, i've using an Iphone X for 3 years know, so something was off. I put the two side by side, displaying the same foto, exactly same settings, and it's sad, something is wrong with the 12 pro, the colors are sad and dead and "yellowish".

Any ideas ?

Hello Antonio! I found a solution that works for me and would work for you as well! My new iPhone 12 also had the yellow tint to it so I exchanged it at my local apple store and although the new one was better, it still had the tint to it. My solution is to actually change the color tint of the display by going into your settings < accessibility < display & text size < color filters < turn on and select color tint. You can scroll down and adjust the intensity and the hue. I have my intensity slider all the way to the left and my hue is about 80% to the right which adjust the tint to a more natural color. It has satisfied me and I hope it works well for you!

I almost got used to the warmness of the screen but it is an issue on most of the phones.

However, on mine it’s really just a soft warmer hue, that’s not totally dramatic, but noticeable on some photos.

I do graphic design and color is important to me! But the iPhone 12 Pro is so fast and feels like a mini-computer. I really hope this screen issue will be fixed soon.

The photo quality is stunning on a mac once transferred. However, since I have Apple Care+ I might wait for any software update, and if not I can return or replace my iPhone 12 Pro.

my girlfriend smashed her white iPhone 12, I bought her the new purple colour and wow, I can tell you now that screen doesn’t have yellow screen. I made sure my iPhone 12 match her display settings and I still have the yellow screen. I will be contacting Apple regarding getting my phone exchange maybe to a newer batch. I honestly believe now this is actually something to do with the glass on the screen and Apple keeping this every quite. The phones are under 12 months and everyone should be allowed to exchange phones if not happy with current screen. I will contact Apple this week and I will get back with what they say.

Couldn't agree more. The 12 pro is a beautiful machine and the setup was extremely easy. I just noticed a lot of what this thread is about with the yellow tint to the screen, when I was comparing. I am also upgrading from an iphone X and am sorry to say that I'm left feeling disappointed with the 12 pro display so far!!

I tried tweaking the color filters on the new phone because I liked the look of my iphone X much better. Having read most of this thread however, it's obvious other users noticed the same thing! Really frustrating but am hoping that apple will address this in future updates.

Technology................it's never easy, right?!?!?

So I’ve got my replacement for quite some time now.. it’s similar/better than the displays they have in store but it’s still noticeable to me.

The 14days return policy for Apple AU is pretty decent so I’ve decided (and already initiated) to return the phone for a full refund this time.

Will have to wait for the arrival of my 12 Pro Max to determine if the Samsung-made screen on that model is better/ equally “bad”

there are rumors that early produced apple phones have lower production standards. I dont know if that is accurate , and really dont care about rumors but just facts. and it seems that is actually a mistake to run and buy first any device or car, and in general product that they are just out for sale. In my case my iphone 12 pro feels nice but looks rubbish , cant realy tolerate that yellow tint and the money i have spend to get it. at the end there is no much difference in everyday use comapring to my iphone x , and not an actual help during these MASK. days , without any fingerprint sensor .

they show No mercy , so i wont too , i will go for sure for a refund. total dissapointment.

Also for me it is the same issue: looking with your eyes it seems yellowish, but taking pictures it becomes reddish.

I just compared the Iphone 12 PRO with Iphone 7 and IPhone XR in the dark light:

  • using the Safari browser white page
  • max brightness to all phones
  • removing the True Tone from all phones.

Please, look at the pictures below, also Iphone 7 is really better and of course no comparison with Iphone XR ; IPhone 12 PRO is really wrong (it seems the worse phone display ever, payed like gold) .

Is there any answers to this by Apple?

P.S. This kind of display does not even let you enjoy beautiful pictures you have on it!!

I tried this light trick on my 12 pro Max and it worked but if I manually change the brightness it goes back to yellow. When fixed and compared to my XS Max my XS Max now looks a little tinted like True Tone is stronger but they are set exactly the same. Also noticed on the 12 pro Max the yellow is more obvious when looking at a angle. I’m wondering if I will get used to it? Going to mess with it a few days.
