Big Sur Update Freeze

So I recently updated to the Big Sur update and it got stuck on the black screen apple loading bar stage at from what I can guess, 90% for a couple of hours. After letting it sit for another four hours, I did a hard restart of the computer and it seems like it updated? Is there any way of finding out if the update was successful or corrupt? It seems to be working fine, but I'm wondering if I need to do a clean install of Big Sur to avoid future issues.
