hp dock g5 compatible with 2017 Macbook pro 13"

Hello all,

I have a new HP USB-c dock that I got for my work windows computer, however I'd like to know if I can safely attach this to my macbook pro for charging and use of my external monitor. HP documentation says that the dock is compatible with Mac OS, but I want to ask here just to be sure that the dock won't harm my Macbook Pro's battery.

I'm hoping it should be fine since Apple doesn't make it's own docs and hubs and they've got to work with other devices since the Macbook pro only has 4 USB-c thunderbolt ports.....

It won't harm your battery. Be aware that it won't support ethernet or audio in/out on a Mac. Also, your Mac can only drive two displays so even though the dock can support more than that, any more than two will not work.
