I need help with an apple ID and can't wait the 14 days that apple wants me to wait.... 6th apple product this is DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!

My wife has an old iphone 6+ in which the screen is not functioning. We have bought a new iphone 11 and wish to reset the apple id password as she cant remember it... we can provide any credit card information, the phone number, email address and answer any security questions necessary so why do we need to wait 14 days to reset the password. WE NEED TO USE THE **** PHONE NOW! I am being sent verification codes both to the phone and email address but not being asked to answer security questions or any credit card information.... what are we to do?

From your descriptions the code you got was for starting account recovery. Account recovery is a two phase process once started. Phase 1 is the evaluation period, usually 24-48 hours but can be longer. Once phase 1 is done it enters phase 2 where iforgot.apple.com will give you the final amount of days (can be weeks) you’ll wait. On that final day you’ll get a text, follow that text immediately.

Since she can’t access the old iPhone because of a broken screen you have to wait for account recovery to finish. This is the design and security feature of two factor authentication when you don’t have access to a trusted device and cannot remember the password.

Screaming is not going to get anything done faster.

From what you describe the Apple ID is on two factor authentication so that does not use security questions any longer, instead it sent verification code to the trusted phone number or a trusted device. Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support

If you don’t have access to the trusted phone number or a trusted device you have to go through account recovery. It sounds like you’ve already started account recovery so you’ve already started the process available to you through Apple‘s security of your account. How to use account recovery when you can’t reset your Apple ID password - Apple Support There’s nothing disgusting about a company making sure your information is secure.

For now you can skip signing in or restoring a back up to her new phone and just use it for phone calls and text messages until account recovery has finished.

Ok so let me explain further, this is a new iPhone 11. We have the old phone but the screen is shot. We also have the old sim, we know the credit card information and anything else related to the phone. I tried resetting the password all it did was send a code to the new phone and an email to the mail address then nothing else. The codes were entered correctly. Why can’t I reset the password? Is there any way I can reset it faster or delete the old info only to re create it. We use Facebook a lot for business and we need another working phone. I have all the info on the old phone so the screen is blank and it can’t be used.
