Its really frustrating.

Hi Kevin,

In a Pages word processing document, the basic unit is a "Section" The number of pages in that section are determined by its content—Pages will automatically add a new page as it is needed to hold the text that has been entered, and will drop a page from that section if material is deleted, and the page is no longer needed to contain that material.

If you delete the text on a page, and the objects taking space on that page, the text below and any objects set to Move with text, will move up to fill the empty space, If the move leaves the last page in that section empty of body text, that page will disappear as it's no linger needed).

To directly remove a specific "Page" and it's content, you need to first isolate that page on a Section of its own. To do that:

  • Place the insertion point immediately after the end of the text on the previous page.
  • Go to the Insert menu and choose Section break.
  • Place the insertion point at the end of the text on the page to be removed.
  • Repeat Insert > Section break.
  • In the display of page thumbnails in the left sidebar, click to select the thumbnail of the page to be deleted.
  • Check to see that the thumbnail has a dark blue band around it AND that there is also a yellow border that does NOT extend to enclose any other page thumbnail, then press delete.
  • IF you do not need a Section break in the location where the page was removed, click at the end of text on the page before the break and replace the section break with a return.

Barry
