exported keynote 10.3.9 file to a movie only plays for six seconds

the only moving parts are a GIF and a webvideo that's @ 4 minutes long

file will play on iCloud as a Keynote file but not export

it's most likely a setting but which one?

  • Download the YouTube video to your Mac and place on a slide - you will need a YouTube down load app

such as: iTube downloader

  • add the GIF files to slides
  • go to File > Export > Movie and make appropriate setting for the movie file

my question is how to export a Keynote 10.3.9 file with a GIF and a youtube webvideo to the desktop as a movie

the settings questions are

  • single file
  • package

  • normal
  • links only
  • self playing

  • lock/unlock
  • group/ungroup

the reference to iCloud refers to the fact I can share a iCloud link which does play for non-Apple recipients

thanks for getting right back, Gary

so it sounds like adding a youtube video link will add it as a web video to a Keynote file and play it in a Keynote presentation but won't export the web video [and audio] to a movie file which will play in anything other that Keynote

uploading to iCloud and emailing the link has played for non-Apple users

I'll try your suggestion and post back

thanks

what I have will play both the GIF and the youtube/web video in Keynote

it will not export as a movie file that will play on QuickTime for more than six seconds, not play the web video or not play for non Apple users or for anyone who doesn't have Keynote

it will play for anyone with a link for accessing the Keynote file on iCloud

I was able to export to QuickTime last year on an older machine and an older version of Keynote and that file was playable for non Apple users

I probably need a better explanation/how to

thanks
