Macbook Pro (2019) with 4 thunderbolt ports but two quit working with hard drives

Have a Macbook Pro (2019) with 4 thunderbolt ports. The rear most ports on both sides suddenly stopped working with my external drives but still will accept power.

Checked port for cleanliness. OS up to date. Both ports quit at same time overnight.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.2

Have you rebooted the laptop?

It is most likely a hardware failure of some sort. It is odd that one port on each side is bad. You need to have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop and provide you with an estimate for the repair.
