The serial number entered is for a different product. Please try again.

I have been having performance issues with my mac. It cant handle multiple tasks at once, gets hung up on closing programs, etc. Its especially bad with Adobe Creative Suite and I am a photographer so I cant have my Mac being slow.

So, I went to reach out to Apple and when it asks for my serial number before I can even ask a questions, I get this warning: "The serial number entered is for a different product. Please try again."

I am copying directly from the system information - so... I obviously have a problem. Anyone know what this means and how to fix it so I can get apple to help?

Are you using Safari? If not, try that.
