I have several CDs that a I imported into Apple Music on my desktop. I am paying for iTunes match so that I can listen to them on my iPhone. Recently, several albums started getting the error message above when I clicked on <Play>.

I wonder if this is because I briefly signed up for Apple Music. I dropped it. Is it possible that iTunes can not tell what music I imported and what music was downloaded while a member of Apple Music? (I tried deleting the entries for music added while a member of Apple Music) How can this be fixed? I also tried executing the update cloud command, thinking that it would force Match to recognize added CDs.

I also noticed that some music can still be played on the desktop that can be played on the iPhone. There is also music that I cannot play on the desktop that was originally added on the laptop (which I still own).

What can be done to fix this?

I suspect you will need to turn off Sync Library, then turn it back on again. That should reconcile your local library with your iCloud Music Library. See Identify cloud status icons in your music library on your Mac or PC - Apple Support and check the iCloud status of any track that continues to present problems.

Hi marianfromla,

Thanks for reaching out to us here in Apple Support Communities! We understand that you're currently unable to play some content that was imported from CDs, and we'd like to help. To clarify, were these CDs imported to the Music app or iTunes using the same Apple ID account that is currently signed in? If so, we can try using the steps in the article below to authorize them again.

If iTunes for Windows prompts you to authorize your computer when you try to play purchases

Please let us know if you have any other questions, and we'll gladly assist.

Have a great day.
