offline in find my

Hi

My mac just taken by a friend and I am trying to lock it via find my but it is pending forever. That person has a regular account in my mac and I am seeing my mac is offline for long time. Is it because my account is not logged in for long time? It seems like my mac is offline even though the mac is being used.

Thanks

What to Do:

A. Contact your "Friend":

What kind of a friend would take a Mac? Contact them, and find out what is going on here. If they have an administrator account, then they may have access to lots of data, and can make lots of change to it.

B. View your Devices:

Go here, and see if you can see if the device is seen under your Apple Account. If it is not seen, then it is no longer associated to your Apple Account: Check your Apple ID Device List to See where you're Signed in - Apple Support

C. Modify your Credentials:

Being that your friend now has this device, modify your credentials, starting with a new password. They have access to all of your information.

D. Learn from this:

Take this as a learning experience knowing to always allow only yourself complete access to the device. Make yourself the only administrator, and make anyone else a guest. Never share you credentials with anyone whomsoever.

Report back how it ends working out.
