MacBook Air (Gold) Overheats

Just replaced my MacBook Air (Gold) battery. Laptop battery life is better now, but the laptop overheats after a few minutes? Should I bring my laptop back to the Genius bar? Any tips on cooling the laptop down? Thanks!

You can try the following basic troubleshooting techniques first-

  1. Reset SMC by following the directions applicable to your MacBook here ➔ How to Reset SMC. If that does not solve things then-
  2. Reset NVRAM/PRAM by following the directions applicable to your MacBook here ➔ How to Reset NVRAM/PRAM. If that does not solve things then-
  3. Enter ➔ Safe Mode and see if the heating issue still exists in Safe mode. Log out of Safe Mode and then reboot computer. If that does not solve things then-

Go back to the Genius Bar and inform them that you are experiencing heating issues after the battery had been replaced. See what they can find.
