What cable do I need to connect 2011 iMac to iPad Pro (11-inch)?

Greetings,

I need to be able to sync data between an older iMac and a newer iPad. I believe I first need to connect the two devices with a cable. What cable do I need in order to do this?

I think I can sync the two devices afterwards via WiFi once I've connected them via the cable.

Thanks!

Chris

You cannot connect them via a cable and air drop will not work because it needs a 2012 or later (iMac):

Wonderful (said with a liberal dose of sarcasm!)

I do appreciate your response babowa!

Why do I get the distinct feeling that when I buy one new Apple device, I might as well replace all my other Apple devices at the same time so that I don't run into issues like this. LOL

In other words, let them all go into obsolescence together!

I'm grateful for Apple products -- especially when they all work together! ;)
