I can't ungroup thumbnails in my pages document

I create pages documents with screenshots of items we are purchasing for our shop. For some reason many of my pages/thumbnails in my 72 page document are grouped together and I can't seem to ungroup them.

I have tried to Ctrl click the section but the 'ungroup' button is not available under Arrange.

I have also tried to go to the end of each page section to create a section break, but since it is all screenshot photos in the document, there is no cursor.

Hi Astrid,

"since it is all screenshot photos in the document" and since you want to be able to select, move or remove single 'pages', you should be wrking with a Page Layout document, rather than the Word Processing document you appear to be using.

CAUTION: Start by making a Duplicate of your document, then change the Copy to a PL doc. Removing the Document Body also removes any Text placed in that body AND any other objects (such as screen shots) that have been placed i that body and set to be inline with text.

You'll want to have the original to fall back to if this happens.

You can convert the current document from word processing to page layout by clicking the Document button to open the Documnet Inspector, then un-checking the Document Body checkbox in that inspector panel.

In a Page Layout Document, each page is also a separate Section, and can be selected by clicking it's thumbnail image in the left side bar.

Regards,

Barry

HI Astrid,

You are quite welcome.

Thanks for the green checkmark, AND for the reply confirming that there were no issues requiring use of the copy. That was the expected outcome, but I tend to be cautious. Better to have an unchanged duplicate than to lose your only copy if there's been a misunderstanding.

Barry
