I want to change the email address for my Apple ID account but when I type my new email address in it says 'this email address is not available. Please choose another email address'
I do not understand why it isn't available as there is no apple account associated with this email address. Is there anyone who can suggest anything?

Apple doesn't have a position statement on re-using email addresses but from reports on this forum it is generally understood if you have recently used an email address with Apple for another purpose such as a rescue email address it cannot be re-used immediately for another purpose.
